RAW is cancelled + more
RAW Vancouver PORTAL 2022 was cancelled because the venue is closing and has cancelled all upcoming events because “homelessness and violence made it impossible for them to operate” (ctvnews.ca).
For my work, I had in mind a wall covered by multiple 70-inch screens that display content rendered on the cloud. The material for this content is the audience. A Kanata that is built from videos of the audience.
For the hardware, I prepared 3 minimum-system Raspberry Pi designs with cameras for cloud-connected vision at the edge in python and bash. Here they are: blue3, cube, andportal.
Private now carries the list of frames from the past three days. There is also a ?gif=1 mode that opens the animated gif for yesterday.
Next, I am running YOLOv5 on public images from street cameras in Vancouver; here is an example.
